Gamma Knife is a special feature to accompany Tinderbox’s quarterly issues. Broadly, Gamma Knife seeks work living within the space of health and the industry that allows access to care or precludes care.
Gamma Knife believes art can be a technology to help the body define the conditions of its living. Gamma Knife seeks to publish work which both engages a health-related condition & recapitulates how designed power structures affect that condition.
The goal of Gamma Knife is to create a space where intimacies can hone into a blade’s edge. We curate this space with the hope this knife will be found by the hands of those reaching toward the end of ableist, anti-Black, anti-trans, anti-LGBTQ, racist hetero-patriarchal structures.
Friends, art is not a flower. Art is the last dagger.
