the roof of my mouth

& i hate it when men put my legs behind my head
when they call me “oh” like it’s become my new name;

& i hate it       men put my legs behind my head
          call me “oh”           become my new name;

& i hate         men     my legs         my head
                                      my new name;

when they leave i
clean the floors. when they leave i
do nothing but eat beets, their skin sticking to the roof of my mouth.
